At KORT, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request the deletion of your account and associated data from our services.

How to Request Account Deletion

You can request the deletion of your KORT account using one of the following methods:

Option 1: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the KORT app
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Tap on "Account"
  4. Select "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your request

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to contact@distanttech.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the following information:

  • The email address associated with your KORT account
  • Your full name as it appears in the app
  • Confirmation that you wish to delete your account and all associated data

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Profile Information: Your name, email address, profile photo, and bio
  • Match History: Records of tennis matches and games you've played
  • Location Data: Any stored location information used for finding nearby players
  • Chat Messages: All conversations and messages with other users
  • Connections: Your list of tennis partners and connections
  • Preferences: Your app settings and notification preferences
  • Payment Information: Any stored payment details (if applicable)
  • Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens used for sending notifications

Processing Timeframe

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving it. You will receive a confirmation email once your account and data have been successfully deleted.

During this period, your account will be deactivated and will no longer be visible to other users.

Data Retention Exceptions

In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain some information even after you request deletion:

  • Legal Obligations: Data required to comply with legal, tax, or regulatory requirements
  • Fraud Prevention: Information necessary to prevent fraud or enforce our terms of service
  • Aggregated Data: Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained for analytics purposes

Any retained data will be kept secure and only used for the specific purposes mentioned above.

Effects of Account Deletion

Please be aware that account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted:

  • You will lose access to all your match history and statistics
  • Your connections with other players will be removed
  • Any active premium subscription will be cancelled (no refunds for remaining period)
  • You will need to create a new account if you wish to use KORT again in the future
